“That was regrettable. It was kind of an interaction with Cowboys supporters seated near me,” Jones explained during a radio appearance. “There was a swarm of Dallas supporters—not New York fans, Cowboys fans. The entire stadium was brimming with enthusiasm for the Dallas team.”
He further emphasized that the signal was entirely unintentional, occurring amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I just put up the incorrect digit,” he noted. “The action was accidentally performed. This is sincere. Should you call it accidental, you can. However, it got corrected rapidly.”

This is not the first time an league proprietor has been penalized for inappropriate behavior. Previous examples involve:
